Do You Want to be Happy?

"Do you want to be happy? Forget yourself and get lost in this great cause. Lend our efforts to helping people. Cultivate a spirit of forgiveness in your heart against any who might have offended you. Look to the Lord and live and work to lift and serve His sons and daughters. You will come to know a happiness that you have never known before if you will do that. I do not care how old you are, how young you are, whatever. You can lift people and help them. Heaven knows there are so very, very, very many people in this world who need help. Oh, so very very many. Let's get the cankering, selfish attitude out of our lives, my brothers and sisters, and stand a little taller and reach a little higher in the service of others. As Browning said, 'A man's reach should exceed his grasp.' Stand taller, stand higher, lift those with feeble knees, hold up the arms of those that hang down."

--President Gordon B. Hinckley

"If you wanna be happy for the rest of your life, never make a pretty woman your wife, so from my personal point of view, get an ugly girl to marry you..." Though this first came to my mind when I read the title, I'm plenty happy and I have a very pretty wife :) Great quote! Love ya.

Dearest Sherrie,
I so enjoyed President Hinckley's thoughts you shared. What an important trait for us to acquire! (Your husband is absolutely adorable! I loved his comment!)
As to your comment on my blog, Dad and I do our personal study or gospel study in the evening just before our family prayer and personal prayers. We have always had scripture study in the morning before everyone took off. We tried the evenings only a couple of times. It didn't work because someone always had somewhere else they needed to be. Mornings we found (made) a 10-15 minute block where we could study. Our personal study time has varied. When the children were small and through their teens, we were so tired by bedtime that we were just ready to have prayer and go to bed. We had to make a seperate block for ourselves. Dad often found some time at work, as he didn't take a lunch. I could study when the children napped or were at school. You and Lee will come up with a system that works for you simply because you have the
DESIRE! Isn't that always the key! Sure do love you.
